Why is Hydro One Networks providing a rebate to these customers?
A: This program is part of our obligation
made to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). This program will be a catalyst
to move forward other commercial, industrial, agricultural and institutional
projects. Utility incentives bring new attention to projects and often
assist in getting the commitment to proceed from customers.
Q: Why are these particular technologies being recommended?
A: They are technologies available
in the marketplace and provide the greatest economic value to the customer.
This economic value is increased even further when the rebates are applied.
Q: Can I hire my own consultant to validate my proposal?
A: We encourage customers to consult
with or obtain assistance from industry professionals to ensure that their
design, proposals and installations best meet their needs. Hydro One Networks
will engage a consultant of its choice to review any applications or evaluate
any completed projects as appropriate.
Q: What if I don't realize any savings after investing all this money?
A: The qualifying technologies are
tried and true with known performance parameters. There are many variables
that could affect their performance and we suggest that you discuss these
with your designers and installers.
Q: What if I want to do another project to implement more initiatives
later?
A: Customers may apply more than once
as long as the total incentive does not exceed $50K.
Q: Can I also apply for funding through other organizations?
A: Yes, we encourage customers to
take advantage of all funding available. Please note that all funding
will be considered in determining the amount of the Hydro One Networks
rebate.
Q: The project that I wish to undertake uses a simple straightforward
technology. Can it be included under the prescriptive program?
A: The prescriptive program is limited
at this time to a fixed number of technologies. Until we get more experience
with the program we will not be changing the qualifying technologies.
Q: How long will it take to process my application?
A: Our goal is to take no more than
30 days to approve applications and 15 days to issue rebate payment(s).
