Payment Options — Choose the Best One for You

We've made it as convenient as possible to pay your Hydro One Networks bill. Choose any combination of billing options and payment methods to find the one that best suits your needs.

Security Deposits

Security deposits may be required when a customer first applies for service or when a customer has failed to maintain a good payment history. You may be required to provide a deposit at any time. Deposits are held as security to guarantee payment of future charges. The security deposit amount will be applied to the customer's account and appear as a charge on the next electricity bill issued. Billing Options

Standard billing
By default, you are generally billed for energy, delivery and other industry-related charges as you use them. Since your energy consumption will vary between billing periods, our standard billing plan will reflect that. Unless you're enrolled in our Budget Billing Plan (formerly referred to as our payment plan), your bill will fluctuate between billing periods.

Budget Billing Plan
If you would prefer more balanced bill payments, you may want to enroll in our Budget Billing Plan. It is a budgeting tool that’s based on your established usage patterns. Since payments are spread out over the year, being on the plan is a good way to moderate any payment fluctuations.

How our Budget Billing Plan works
Generally, we establish a payment amount based on your consumption history or electricity usage pattern. Depending on your billing frequency, you’ll receive either six or twelve bills a year.

If your account is billed monthly, you’ll receive 11 monthly bills from us. Each is based on your monthly service charge plus 1/12 of your estimated annual energy use, and your Sentinel Light charges, if applicable. For the 12th bill, we read your meter and adjust your account based on your actual energy consumption. You are then credited for any overpayment or charged for the balance owing.

If your account is billed bi-monthly, you’ll receive five bi-monthly bills over the first 10 months of the year. Each is based on two months’ service charge plus 1/6 of your annual energy use, and your Sentinel Light charges, if applicable. For the sixth bill, we read your meter and adjust your account based on your actual energy consumption. You are then credited for any overpayment or charged for the balance owing.

To enroll, you can call us at 1-888-664-9376 or sign in to the Self Service area, go to "Your Bill," then select "Payment Options."

Important: Only customers who have not enrolled with a retailer are eligible for our Budget Billing Plan. Please call your retailer to find out what products and services they may offer.

Payment Methods

You have several options for paying your Hydro One Networks bill. Remember, you still have a full 21 days from the issue date of your bill to make your payment. Be sure to check the date allowed for payment carefully, and allow at least five business days for processing.

eBilling
You can now receive and pay your bills electronically through epost™, Canada Post's free electronic bill presentment service. In just a few clicks, you can now view and pay your Hydro One Networks bill safely and securely online. It's like having your Hydro One Network bills delivered right to your computer. And with no paper bills to open or file, we're giving you the opportunity to manage your electricity bill in a more environmentally friendly way. With eBilling, you can save your bills for up to seven years and you'll never pay late fees again with scheduled and recurring payment options. E-mail notifications ensure you won't lose another bill. You can access epost from within your online banking session at your financial institution or directly at www.epost.ca. Pre-Authorized Payment Option
Direct withdrawal from your chequing account saves you time and money. We simply withdraw the amount of your bill from your account no sooner than the payment date, so your bill is always paid on time and you avoid any late payment charges. Your next statement will show the payment amount and date of withdrawal.

To enroll, sign in to the Self Service area, go to "Your Bill," then select "Payment Options". Or simply fill out the "tear-off" form on the return envelope that accompanies your electricity bill, and attach an unsigned cheque marked void and mail it to us.

Important: If you sign up with a retailer who is billing you directly for all your electricity charges, this option is no longer available to you through us.

Pay by mail
Use the envelope enclosed with your bill and include the payment stub from your bill along with a cheque or money order. Please do not send cash through the mail. If you misplace the envelope provided, mail your payment to:

Pay at your financial institution
Hydro One Networks has arrangements with most major financial institutions to accept payment of your Hydro One Networks bill. It’s easy to pay by phone, Internet, ATM or in person. Be sure to check the date allowed for payment carefully, and allow at least five business days for processing.

If your bank offers home banking, you can use your computer to pay your Hydro One Networks bill. This service is available through most major banks or financial institutions. Check with your bank, credit union or bill payment service provider for more information.
