LDCs & Transmission Customers

Our Work program manages the scheduling and implementation of requests for new or modified joint use of poles, long term load transfers, additional capacity, tie lines, power quality, new metering locations and reliability concerns.

New or Modified Joint-use of Poles

To initiate a request to attach equipment to a Hydro One pole (e.g. lines and metering equipment) not involving an electrical connection to Hydro One circuits, please contact the appropriate Customer Operations Zone Business Centres.

They will work with you to:

  • Identify the technical requirements
  • Modify and/or initiate the Joint Use Master Agreement.

Requests typically take a minimum of 60 days to complete the final design and estimate depending on the size and complexity of the project.

Long-Term Load Transfer

A long-term load transfer involves an LDC connecting a customer to a Hydro One distribution circuit with the customer continuing to be billed by the LDC without creating a wholesale point of supply.

To initiate a long-term load transfer, please contact your Account Executives.

Additional Capacity, Connection Inquiries

For connection inquiries regarding tie lines, new metering locations, supply or reliability concerns and additional capacity, please contact your Account Executive.
