LDCs & Transmission Customers

The Unaccompanied Station Access process provides Transmission-connected customers with unaccompanied access to their equipment inside of a Hydro One Transformer station. The process was developed in accordance with the Transmission System Code and Hydro One Access policy to ensure the utmost in security and public safety.

There are four main steps to the Unaccompanied Station Access process:

  1. Complete the Unaccompanied Station Access Agreement (PDF 62 KB)
  2. Complete Hydro One security checks (not required for LDC staff at this time)
  3. Complete Hydro One Station Safety Awareness training (PDF 354 KB)
  4. Complete station site orientation.

See the flowchart below for a step-by-step overview of the Unaccompanied Station Access process:

In conjunction with the roll out of the Unaccompanied Station Access process, Hydro One also completed a lock replacement program across the province. We installed safer, more secure locks at each of our Transformer stations.

Where customers require access to the station, a double bail device can be installed to accommodate both Hydro One and the customer's lock. See Hydro One's lock specification.

If you have questions on the Unaccompanied Station Access process, please contact Colleen Landgraff at 416-345-5972.
