About Hydro One Networks

When a light goes on in Ontario, chances are good the electricity making the bulb glow travelled across the wires and towers operated by Hydro One Networks Inc. Ensuring that electricity makes its journey safely and reliably are the more than 4,000 men and women of Hydro One Networks. Our transformer and station maintenance teams, power line maintainers, forestry crews, meter readers and all the other people working behind the scenes take great pride in their contribution to helping Ontario succeed.

Hydro One Networks is responsible for 97 per cent of Ontario's electricity transmission system and about one-third of the province's distribution system. The 28,600 kilometre high voltage system transmits electricity from generating facilities across the province to local distribution companies, municipal utilities and large industrial consumers. Hydro One Networks' low voltage distribution system brings electricity to approximately 1.3 million homes or businesses across rural Ontario.

Hydro One Networks is the largest operating subsidiary of Hydro One Inc., which is wholly owned by the Province of Ontario.

Safety, customer service, reliability, great employees, and shareholder value are our top priorities.

At Hydro One Networks, we're responsible for reading your meter to calculate the charges on your bill.
